Elizabeth Lepock

Voice, piano

Elizabeth Lepock holds a Master of Music, Literature and Performance, and a Doctor of Music Arts in Voice Performance from University of Western Ontario. Over the course of her doctoral studies, in addition to honing her performance and pedagogy skills, Elizabeth also pursued groundbreaking interdisciplinary research into muscle tension voice disorders.

Elizabeth's love of music includes a continuous desire to learn, a passion for performing, and a nurturing but also stimulating approach to teaching. Her varied teaching experience include more than 15 years of private voice and piano teacher, six years on faculty at Ontario Mennonite Music Camp, Conrad Grebel University College, and varied teaching assistant positions at the masters and doctoral level. Elizabeth has also served as a board member of Waterloo Region National Association of Teachers of Singing Student Chapter (Student NATS), and as a clinician in local masterclasses and competitions. Now a full NATS member, she continues to maintain a large studio of voice and piano students, many of whom have achieved first class honours in exams and received acclaim at music festivals and competitions.

Elizabeth enjoys performing in opera, oratorio, and recital – particularly innovative/interdisciplinary projects – and has a real enjoyment of poetry and foreign languages. An aspiring pianist from age two, Elizabeth now mainly plays piano when accompanying her students, but still particularly adores the solo piano music of Claude Debussy. She welcomes voice and piano students of many levels and backgrounds – voice students from beginner to professional, and piano students beginner to advanced. She centres lessons around student-goals – anything from pursuing music as a career to learning to sing in-tune. Her mantra as a voice teacher is: “Anyone can sing!” and also believes that with inspiration and strategy, anyone can play piano well!
